[ It's video, filming the young face of one Gwen Stacy as she reclines in a hammock on the beach somewhere. There's a bowl of shaved ice, a greyish purple in color, sitting on a small wooden table just behind her. It comes into view every now and then as Gwen swings back and forth in her hammock. Next to that, an electric blue surfboard propped up in the sand. ]
Y'know, it's probably a good idea to introduce myself, seeing as I'm in yet another another dimension and will be here for I don't know how long. My name is Gwen Stacy. I'm from New York. I'm fifteen years old. I've played the drums since I was six and have been trained in several styles of dance for as long as I remember.
[ She bends some, reaching for the shaved ice and grabs it as she swings and then sits up some to take a sip. ]
Quite recently, I was on a train that went from universe to universe so myself and several others could save their world. No, we didn't sign up to be there.
[ Because fuck those inspector guys and what they think. ]
We just showed up on various platforms and felt the need to get on the train. And before that, I was in a New York in a different dimension. Some madman was ripping holes in the Multiverse and I kinda sorta fell through.
[ She's leaving off so much, but she's speaking so casually about it. Like that's it and that's the end of that story and there's nothing more to tell. ]
Pretty sure I was on the way home before I found myself on that platform, but that's okay.
[ She sets the shaved ice back down and this time she hops up off her hammock and heads down to the beach to sit in the sun for a bit. ]
Basically what I'm saying is the last few months have been an absolutely crazy adventure and while I'm fairly certain BEachville will prove to be just as nuts? I'm so glad for a vacation, oh my God.
Now, you go. Tell me about you. Whoever you are. What's...hmm...so far what's been your favorite part about Beachville? Mine has to be surf lessons. It's so much fun.
[ And with that, she ends her part of the broadcast. Now it's everyone elses turn to talk. ]
[Tattoos]
[ Gwen is too young for a tattoo. That's what the sign on the door says. Must be 18 or older. But that's not why she's here. She's here because the prices for piercings caught her eye and she's been wanting another one for a while. She looks over the pictures in the window (nothing immodest, those are INSIDE the shop) and then turns to look at the person closest to herself. ]
So, what do you think? Nostril or an industrial?
[ These are serious questions, folks. ]
[Beach ]
[ She did mention surfing in her video and that's exactly what Gwen is doing now. She's not quite a pro, but she's staying on. It probably helps being one of Beachville's resident Spider People. Perfect equilibrium and all that. It's the sticking that's proving difficult. She can't stick when the board is wet, so she hasn't bothered trying.
Eventually, she comes to land. Heading up the sand to her towel and sticking her board into the sand, she stretches out on the towel with a sigh, eyes closed. ]
Not gonna lie, but I kinda love it here.
[ Said to whoever she's hanging out with. Is it you? ]
