Upon Arrival
- You know how it goes. One minute you're minding your own business. Maybe you're in your own universe, maybe you're in another one entirely. Whichever the case, you blink and suddenly you find yourself in front of a small, wooden information booth, without so much as a warning. The weather is lovely, the environment peaceful, until someone clears their throat nearby to get your attention. It's coming from the booth. Inside the booth sits an older gentleman, old enough to be your grandfather, and he's smiling warmly at you.
"Welcome," he says, giving you a grin and a small nod. He means no harm and regards you with some curiosity before reaching towards a stack of very plain looking pamphlets in front of him.
"It'd be in your best interest," he states, going through the pamphlets before pulling one up, turning to reach into a filing cabinet for an envelope clearly stuffed with something. "It'd be in your best interest to take these. And to check your pockets," he states. The envelope is filled with money, paper bills that seem to shift colors in the light, and the pamphlet welcomes you to the current settings of this pocket dimension and tells you that while lodging is free, entertainment, food and other necessities are not so it's probably best that you find a job.
Inside your pockets are a set of keys and a map to a house. The house is yours. You'll even find a chest in your bedroom, containing six items from home, some of which you're sure shouldn't even fit in there.
Welcome to Town.

Just ask anyone, Beachville is the most beautiful city anywhere! That's exactly what the NPCs will tell you with a genuine smile on their faces and a happy nod. It even just might be true. For a beach as crowded as it is, it's surprisingly clean! The sand is just right. Not too hot and soft to the touch. The water is so blue you can see marine life swimming just under the surface. A variety of multicolored fish. Dolphins. The occasional mermaid. ...yes, that was in fact a mermaid! They're playful, don't worry. They won't try to drown you, Maybe just knock you off your surfboard with a laugh and a flash of a shimmery tail as they swim off to who knows where. There are still sharks in that very blue, very clear water, but they're not interested in you in the slightest. In fact, they seem very keen on avoiding you. There's so much to do here in Beachville! There's fishing off the docks, well away from where people are swimming. There's a boardwalk with almost every shop imaginable. A tattoo artist, a piercing parlor, a place to buy silly souvenirs like hermit crabs in cages, or ridiculous shirts. There's so much food to be tried; Pizzas, Salt Water Taffy's, lemonades of various flavors and some of the best burgers and fries you've ever had! If the day-life isn't for you, wait until dark. The amusement park (which opens at sunrise and runs until 2 AM), lights up the night in a fantastic and colorful display, the sounds of the roller coasters and laughing guests heard for miles around, and part of the docks turns into an open air nightclub, complete with dance floor, beverages for all and alcohol for anyone over eighteen. Don't try to trick the bartender. They'll know. If the hustle and bustle and noise of the beach isn't for you, don't worry. There are many resorts nearby with their own private swimming pools and entertainment. There are coffee shops on almost every street, various boutiques and curios to look at and a movie theater or two. Don't worry; you'll also find the more necessary stores like grocery stores (where there is something for almost everyone), pharmacies, book stores, clothing stores, hardware stores. There's even a police station, fire house and hospital. But that's not what Beachville is about! Everyone needs a vacation, right? |

![]() | Beachville Boardwalk and Amusements Just what it says on the tin. Every possible Boardwalk location you can think of is here. Tattoo parlors, really cheesy t-shirts and hideous beach attire, awesome food of highly dubious nutritious value. There are also rides, like a huge ferris wheel, bumper cars, spinning rides and a huge roller coaster. At night, part of the boardwalk closes and turns into a place for dancing, drinking (For anyone over eighteen) and watching fireworks every weekend until 2 AM. |
![]() | The Surf Board There are three of these places located along the beach, and each one seems to be run by surfers in 'business attire'. Of course, by business attire, we mean these shirts and khaki shorts. They're here for all your surfing needs whether it be board rentals, lessons or even board purchases and care products. Dude. |
![]() | Shellfish Shack A small, outdoor restaurant right beside the fishing docks that can happily boast the freshest, most inexpensive seafood. There are crabs, lobsters, shellfish of many edible varieties and other seafood, besides. They also sell fresh catches by the pound that you can cook yourself at home, so go ahead and buy some! And be sure to buy some of their fresh made lemonade by the gallon. It's known all over Beachville as the best. |
![]() | Beach Breeze The Perfect place outdoors to grab a smoothie or any kind of fruit juice. They also serve the best shaved ice you've ever had in your life. What a great way to beat the heat! |
Allison Argent | Teen Wolf
Standing just a few feet away from the information booth where she had appeared moments before, Allison Argent frowns to herself as she studies the map that has a little star indicating her destination. She really has no idea what is happening at the moment but she decides it could be worse. A lot worse.
Plus it seems like she might be stuck at the moment, so she chooses to compartmentalize some of her feelings in favor of just trying to make it through the next minute and then the next since there is no use in breaking down. Not even when she has her very last minutes playing through her head over and over as she continues to stare at the map like it might give her more answers than where she apparently has a home.
BEACH BREEZE
A little while later, Allison can be found outside of the place with a strawberry-banana smoothie in hand as she watches her surroundings. She probably looks just a little out of place considering everyone seems to be in beachwear and she....isn't. Sure, her dress is floral but it is still all dark colors along with her pants and her jacket that she has closed at the moment. She is even wearing what looks like a bracer on her one arm, almost like what an archer would wear even though there is no bow in sight.
Tucking some dark hair back from her face, she looks this way and that before she starts towards the boardwalk to check things out there. Really, she is just going to wander around for a while until she gets up the courage to find the house that is meant for her.
HOME...?
There is no way to escape it.
Allison realizes as much when the hour gets late and she realizes that she needs to find the place that is indicated by a star on her map. So she follows the directions until she reaches the area filled with houses and eventually finds the one meant for her.
Not that she is able to go in right away, not when it's all dark and empty because she knows she won't find her Dad in there. She won't find anyone she knows in there and that thought leaves her with an aching sense of loneliness.
Home
The deep voice, softened by a dull southern accent, comes from behind her. If she turns, she'll find the otherworldly presence of a man behind her--seven feet tall, dressed head to toe in black, blood red hair streaming past his shoulders from beneath a wide brimmed hat. His arms are folded across his chest, and from beneath the shadow of his brim, grey eyes sparkle and flash with tiny bolts of lightning.
He couldn't help it, he'd felt the pull from across town. He felt it everywhere in this place, new homes sitting empty, lost souls uncertain about filling them. Some were joyful, those needed little from him--it was a lesser sphere of his influence, but his duty to tend all the same.
This one...she called to him on a dozen different fronts. This one, at the moment, was the one that called him with the greatest strength.
"It's only dark 'n scary now 'cause it's waitin' for you." he pointed out, jerking his chin towards the house. "When you walk through that door, it'll be home."
no subject
Not that she rushes to relax as she regards him, shifting back ever so slightly to put more space between them as she keeps her gaze trained on him and not the house at her back.
"I didn't ask for a new home." She points out after finding her voice, shaking her head a little. "And I'm not scared of it. I just..."
She trails off with a little shrug because she doesn't know what to say. Not to a stranger.
no subject
"Scared of that pain--no shame in it, little soldier. Any living souls says they ain't is lyin'."
no subject
"I don't think I am a living soul." She murmurs out loud without realizing it, shaking her head as she wonders what is inside waiting for her.
no subject
"And you ain't alone." he assured her. "If you're worried 'bout what's in there for you...you ain't gotta face it by yourself. I'll walk you in if you like, little soldier."
no subject
Not that she was probably a threat to him but she was sure she could defend herself if she absolutely needed to. At least for a few minutes and hopefully long enough to get away if she needed to do that too.
no subject
Stepping closer, he offered her his hand to shake.
"I'm a death god, little soldier--and you are a soldier. Look to your gut, you know I'm speakin' truthfully. I'm here to look out for you...and to see you safely through that door."
no subject
Then she stilled as he revealed that he was some kind of death god. Not that she knew if she really believed him or not but something felt true about his words.
It also stirred a rush of grief inside of her as she looked up at him and swallowed thickly. "So, this is some kind of afterlife, isn't it?"
no subject
"If this were the afterlife, little soldier, I'd be in a fouler mood, and your soul would already be mine." he assured her. "I'm like you--taken from my home, set up in this strange new world, far from my flock. I can't leave, but I can go where I'm needed. No, I've been everywhere: walked the golden paths of Heaven, served a sentence in Hell...sealed treaties in Purgatory, and carved my realm out of Limbo's frontier. You're very much alive, little lady--and if I got my druthers, you'll damn well stay that way."
no subject
"What does it matter to you?" She asked softly, wrapping her arms around herself.
no subject
"I'm a god." he said simply. "Death god in particular, but I have...you might call 'em spheres of influence. Certain folks I prefer to look after, certain situations I'm well equipped to aid. For instance, I'm also the god of grief, and of loss."
He regarded her quietly, expression sobering.
"Both hang heavy 'round your neck, little soldier. Got inside...makes you mine to look after. Mine to aid."
no subject
Then she sobered again as he told her that grief and loss hung around her neck. She didn't know what to say for a moment before she turned away, having it right there on the tip of her tongue to tell him what had happened to her and she didn't know why.
"I don't need looking after." She murmured, her brows pulling together.
Beach Breeze
He was relaxed, or as relaxed as possible in this situation. He'd stopped for a smoothie, pausing his explorations when he noticed the bracer on the Mundane's arm. His gaze sharpened, taking in details, looking for weapons or a sign of a threat. There was no glamour that he could sense and she wasn't a Shadowhunter, which made archery gear seem strange. Most Mundies weren't into the 'sport' and those that were didn't wear their gear for errands.
"Where's your bow?" Abrupt but tact or small talk had never been one of Alec's strengths.
no subject
Now she was edgy for another reason and distracted just enough that she didn't notice the man right away or the fact that he was watching her rather closely. Not until there was a familiar little itch at the back of her neck, warning her that someone was in fact watching and causing her to turn slightly towards him even as he asked her about her bow.
It was a question that left her blinking at him before she frowned, ready to play dumb and ask him what the hell he was talking about before she glanced down at the reason he had asked. Then her gaze darted to his face again as she realized he had recognized the bracer and what it was for.
"I don't know. It wasn't on me when I arrived." She answered, lifting her chin slightly. "Why? Do you have one?"
no subject
Watching her reaction to his question, he was reminded of his sister and had to stop himself from rolling his eyes. Expecting either the denial or the little sister wheedling that Izzy would try, he almost smiled. "I had one back home. I'm not sure if I have one now, but I will get one eventually." And the rest of the weapons he was missing, even if he had to improvise or make them himself.
